The Eagle Rock development, which was opened in 2008, consists of 84 apartments, with the great majority owned by British people. It’s a sold-out development. There’s a leisure centre in a lower level and spacious gardens around the building to relaxing. The complex dominates its surrounding environment and is in a prestigious location.

The development is in Beli Iskar which is a sought after ski village 2km from Borovets (as the crow flies, and a 10 minute drive by road). Samokov is also only 10 minutes away which is a sizeable town with many shops/bars/restaurants and also a good ski area. There is a new ski lift planned for Beli Iskar village which will be only 100m away from the development and it’s planned to link the village directly with Borovets.

Bulgaria’s historic capital, Sofia and the international airport, is around 65kms away (by good road), no more than an hour really. All major UK airports fly regularly to Sofia. Easyjet operate from Gatwick and the other popular cheap airlines include Whizz Air who operates from Luton. Flights are also available from Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands (indirect) and many airports across Europe.

If you want something exceptional, this is the apartment for you. It’s impossible to imagine better views from an apartment than this. One of the great things about Bulgaria is the very low cost of owning property, and low living costs. There is 25.19 m² of common area allocated to this apartment and with a service fee of eight Euros per square metre that means only €201.50 per year service charge. That covers the maintenance of the common areas, garden, building and management costs. That’s a fraction typical of other European ski apartments.

Not only is Bulgaria beautiful and a great place to live, it has the lowest cost of living in Europe. Local restaurants charge as little as £10 for two including drinks. Ski passes are low-cost also. In fact, your money goes a long way in Bulgaria.

This is a very scenic part of the country and the beautiful Rila mountains are on your doorstep, a fantastic place not just to ski but for walks, horse riding, a tennis centre nearby, motocross - you name it, and it’s probably available nearby. And that’s not forgetting the “inland sea” of Lake Iskar a short journey down the road. Every form of water sports is available there.

The air and water quality are exceptional at Eagle Rock. There’s purity about the air that you simply don’t find any more in built up places like England. And the water is of mineral quality, to the extent it’s bottled and sold! With a laid-back and friendly attitude of the locals, with English widely spoken in this tourist area, is a wonderful place to relax and feel healthy.
