About the city and region
There are a lot of unique beautiful corners in the world and, no doubt, one of them is the Carpathians. It is a real treasure in the trove of Mother Nature. Yaroslav Osmomysl, Semen Vysochan, Danylo Halytskyi, Stepan Bandera, Oleksa Dovbush, resided and fought here; Ivan Franko, Lesia Ukrainka, Vasyl Stefanyk, Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi wrote their masterpieces here.
In the region different ethnic groups reside, such as Hutsuls, Boikas, Pokutians. Each of them has particular language and music features, architecture, customs and traditions.
Mountain Hoverla that is located in Ivano-Frankivsk region is higher than any other mountain in Ukraine. The Prut River waterfalls fall on the slopes of the mountain like a necklace. You will have tremendous opportunities to travel in the mountains, raft down the fast waters of the Prut River and Cheremosh River or ski down the snow-white sparkling slopes.
The cleanest water streams in the spring, old fir and oak forests and blooming green pastures, resorts and mineral waters with curative qualities of the well-known "Narzan" and "Naftusia" are waiting for you.

How to get there
By air:

By Train:
You can get to Ivano-Frankivsk by train from Lviv (where you can connect to Belarussia and Poland) or Chernivtsi (where you can connect to Romania) or from the capital Kyiv.
