Balaclava: the undiscovered jewel of the Crimea!

Balaclava is a unique corner that attracts the attentions of many people from all over the world. The names of streets, boulevards and metro stations in England, France, Turkey, and settlements in Australia also use its name. This terrific region keeps the mysteries of centuries past and for many years these lands were the scenes for battles where the fates of countries and states were resolved. The myths of ancient Greece were born here and the Romans continue to protect it.

Balaclava is turning back the clock and people can enjoy a trip through the pages of history. Today peaceful Balaclava offers both a brilliant quiet life from the military town which transfers into an international tourist center on the Black sea coast. In 2004 Balaclava celebrated its 2500 anniversary. The old town is rapidly getting younger: the memorials of the past have been renovated, old villas of the Russian intelligence are being restored and the coast line has improved. All this makes time spent in Balaclava interesting and exciting. 6 plazas and parks are being restored which are connected to Nikita Botanical gardens and there are 46 historical memorials in Balaclava.
