Ukraine has adapted the customs-tariff to the norms of World trade organization - President of Ukraine Viktor Yuschenko signed the changes to the Law about the customs tariff on 15 June.
According to the law the Ukrainian static system is adapted to the world norms; all misunderstandings of systems in the International goods classification are deleted. The law specifies that the good nomenclature of customs tariff of Ukraine is the Ukrainian classification of goods of the foreign economic activity, based on the system of description and coding of goods.
As well the Law assumes that the establishment of new and current import duty determined by the customs tariff of Ukraine will be carried out by the Verkhovna Rada by adoption of laws. The law signed by the President will go into effect on 1 January 2008.
As the analyst of International center of perspective research Eugenia Akhtyrko admits going into effect of these changes will not cause any special changes as all the market participants are already ready for them.
"This Law is important in the context of deletion of formal barriers for the entrance of our country to WTO" - Akhtyrko says. The changes to the Law about the customs-tariff were adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 31 May of current year. |
