Today Zakarpattya region is one of the most popular tourist zones in Ukraine. It is no wonder that there is such a demand for having rest in the Western Ukraine - Carpathians area famous for the unforgettable landscapes and comfortable conditions for winter sport. Snow here is mostly lying from the start of Decemeber to the end of April. The Carpathians resorts keep developing all the time. Excellent place to have a rest in the Carpathian property.

Zakarpattya presents a new investment project – tourist center “Polonyna Runa”. Total area of the complex is about 60 000 ha and the longest ski way will reach 8 km. More than 340 hotels, rest complexes and cottages for 18 900 persons are planned to be built. Such information was obtained from the administration of connection with publicity of Zakarpattya regional state directorate.

The work on project started two years ago. Currently all estimations and general plan are ready. Now the projects for every single territory are developed: 8 tourists centers are predicted to be built – in the valley Runa, near the high mountain lake Bolshoe Troste close to the villages TuryaPolyana, Lumshory, Lykitsari, Lypovets, Turychki, Polynska Huta. According to data from investors – Ukrainian company”Atoll Holding” the cost of the project will be 250 mln USD. As well the investors have a difficult task to decrease the forest clearance and disturbing the nature.

The first visitors are planned to be received in 1.5 year. Currently investors are ready to start the building of necessary infrastructure, mostly transport connection with tour centers. “Atoll Holding” also has plans to develop the problem of energy and water supply.

“The immensity of the project provides it a national meaning. Its realization has to be a good sample of collaboration of private and state structures” –reported in the State administration.

By now Zakarpattya region possesses other investment projects as “Reconstruction and building of health and resort complex” (“Soleni Mlaky”, Soleni Mlaky near Mukachevo), “Building and activity of health and residential complex for 200 places in the sanatorium “Kvitka Polonyny”” (village Solochyn of Svalyava area), “Reconstruction and building of health complex “Thermal Star”” (village Nyzhne Solotvyno of Uzhgorod area), “Reconstrauction of active part of the sanatorium “Derenivska kupel” (village Solotvyno of Uzhgorod area) ”, “Creation of tourist base “Kuchera” (village Repinne of Mizhgirya area).

Last year provided 18.5 mln of hryvnias for the reconstruction of technical part of the resort establishments of the Zakarpattya region. In addition 3 mln or hrn was given for the purchasing of necessary equipment.

Last year the resort complexes of Zakarpattya received 176 000 of tourists that includes 47 % from all the quantity of tourists in this region. In addition 5 000 of children treated.
