In November 2009 Ukraine will start preparing for its presidency of the Council of Europe that is scheduled for 2011, Ukraine's permanent representative to the Council of Europe Euhen Perelygin has reported.

«From November, we will start formal preparing for the CE presidency," he noted at a meeting of the press club on Wednesday.

He admitted that Ukraine would preside over the Council of Europe for the first time in 2011.

He added that the ideas and priorities that will be realized by our country during its presidency of the Council of Europe will be considered and approved during the country's preparing work.

Ukraine will keep the presidency of the Council of Europe from May till November 2011.
