Recently Ukraine was proud of getting a bronze medal by the Ukrainian sportsman at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. Today Ukraine became even more proud because of getting the golden medal by the Women Team Sabre.

Olga Kharlan has won the golden medal in the Women`s Team Sabre event at the 2008 Olympic Games that take place in Beijing.

Ukraine has won the golden medal in the inaugural Women`s Team Sabre event at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on August 14, defeating China 45-44, according to the information at the official web site of the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing.

The Ukrainian team included Olga Kharlan (World N. 15), Olena Khmorova (World N. 32), Halyna Pundyk (World N. 34), and reserve player Olha Zhovnir.

China's Sabre team included Tan Xue (World N. 4), Bao Yingying (World N. 6), and Huang Hayang (World N. 20).

The bronze medal was taken by the sportsmen from the United States.
