
On 18 September 2007 in Uzhgorod the Minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungarian Republic Kinga Goncz signed the Agreement about the rules of local border movement that assumes visa-free entrance for the citizens of close to border zone.
As the head of press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrey Deschitsa reported, the conduction of this agreement with Hungary - first from the neighboring countries-parts of EU-is especially important in the context of approaching of this country from 1 January to SСЃhenghen zone.
The positions of the Agreement assume visa-free movement through common border for the citizens of Ukraine and Hungary who live in the area close to border (in 50 km from the border).
During the meeting the heads of outer political departments of the two countries also specified the positive dynamics of bilateral political relations, discussed the results of Summit Ukraine-EU. Ministers also positively estimated the condition of Ukrainian-Hungarian trading economical collaboration, noting that the volumes of Ukrainian -Hungarian commodity turnover increased twice and reached the record for the first time for the last 15 years, reaching 2 mlrd USD.
As well the sides the parties discussed the problem of border cooperation, in particular, building of new check-point on the common border Dedovo-Beregdarocz, in order to open it until the final part of the Championship of Europe in football 2012 will be held.
Let's remind that vice-head of the European Soviet, premier minister of Portugal Jose Socrates reported about his assurance that till the end of the year the agreement between Ukraine and EU about the simplification of visa regime will be ratified.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk reported that European Union is going to carry out all necessary for the improvement of their relations with Ukraine. |
