The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new draft international agreement on air communication between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
According to government's resolution N 1636 dated August 11, 2010 the Cabinet has authorized Transport and Communications Minister Kostyantyn Yefymenko to conclude the document.
As it was learned from the source at the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, the draft agreement provides for decreasing the interference of the aviation authorities into the operation of air carriers. Particularly, the document permits the parties to replace the procedure of approval of transport tariffs with their monitoring, which will empower the airlines to sign code sharing agreements.
Furthermore, the agreement provides for establishing a mechanism of checking the carriers for their compliance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
"The date of concluding of this agreement has not been determined yet and depends on the readiness of the British party. The issues of designating airlines and regulating the number of flights per week are not the subject of the agreement. These issues are focused at the level of the competent authorities of both countries. Meanwhile, the parties are guided by the provisions of the Agreement dated February 10, 1993," the source noted. |
