On the 1, January of coming year Poland will occur in Schengen zone, and this means that their Eastern border will become an outer border of EU. This became a reason of rules change as for the neighboring countries, says Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza in its article, published on 6, September.
Will it decrease the number of Ukrainians entering Poland? In Polish Council decisions about it are very different. The Ukrainians entering Poland will have to pay for visa but it will be the entry to other countries of European Union.
Ukraine has initialed agreement with European Union as for the visas during Summit EU-Ukraine in Helsinki on 27 October 2006. But hence it didn't come to power yet it is already known that significant changes will be introduced. The citizens of Ukraine will loose the possibility to get free visas but they will have the right to move round EU countries. Starting from the New Year they will have to pay, at least 35 EUR. Agreement of EU with Ukraine assumes simplifications while visa obtaining.
Close relatives of EU citizens, students, journalists, persons who take part in cultural-educational exchange or sport events, as well as persons who go abroad with charity purpose will be free from payment for visa.
