Ukraine is willing to carry out Olympic Games of 2018 in a famous ski resort Bukovel. Local people of Ivano-Frankivsk are seriously speaking about the Games.....

The ski resort Bukovel will apply for the winter Olympic Games in 2018.

General Manager of one of the most famous ski resorts of Ukraine Alexandr Shevchenko reported that this resort has really great chances to get the Olympic status, because Bukovel is one of the most dynamically growing ski resorts in the world.

Alexandr Shevchenko admits the sum of investments includes about 150 mln USD. Only this year investment is estimated as 95 mln USD. Practically it looks like – 50 km of ski way, and 30 km of which are built recently. Currently all the complex possesses the territory of 250 hectares, and already in 2 years it will be 600 hectares. 70% of this area is concerned for the ski ways. The rest is tourist infrastructure.

Of course, Alexandr Shevchenko doesn’t refuse the facts about some disadvantages, as for example the necessity of some reconstruction works of roads and airports, but he hopes the government will take part in these projects.

It is ought to be noticed that International Olympic Committee still didn’t choose the place for the Games 2014.
