
The building of a new customs checkpoint, Budomierz-Hrushiv, has been started on the Ukrainian-Polish border as part of preparation for hosting the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine.
The press service of Lviv Regional State Administration reported that First Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Myron Yankiv and Governor of Poland's Subcarpathian Province Miroslaw Karapyta had buried a time capsule at the site of the building of a new international car checkpoint on May 31.
Yankiv admitted that this investing project would be finished in two years. He dded that the Ukrainian side had plans to develop road infrastructure and build an access road through Hrushiv to an international highway. The quantity of investment will be about 20 million USD.
"Lviv Regional Governor Vasyl Horbal and Karapyta should soon hold a meeting to continue negotiations on cross-border cooperation and the development of the Ukrainian-Polish border," Yankiv admitted.
The customs checkpoint will be built using the funds of Poland.
Four checkpoints are currently working in Lviv region on the border with Poland. |
