The future meeting of the Committee for Economic Collaboration of the Russian-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission will be held in October 2010, during which agreements concerning on, industry and a number of other issues will be concluded.
"We are deeply interested in strengthening collaboration with the Russian Federation, and we have come to you with this intention," Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov noted at a meeting of the committee on Friday in Sochi.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine asked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about his proposals as for the date of the next meeting.
"Sometime in the second quarter of October," Putin admitted. Azarov agreed that this was a good date.
Additionally, the prime minister expressed hope that in October, many of the agreements that were discussed on Friday will be agreed and drafted.
While speaking about the most important areas of collaboration between the countries, Azarov placed special emphasis on cooperation in the oil and gas, nuclear energy, engineering, space, and transport sectors.
"These are important fields, where there are still unresolved issues. But today's meeting has given an impetus to these issues, showed that there is an understanding what to do next," the Ukrainian premier added. |
