The workgroup of the Kyiv state administration selected the draft images of the city’s flag and emblem, the press service of the city state administration reported recently to the Ukrainian press services.
The draft sketches have been worked out by heraldry expert Oleksii Rudenko and artist Vitaliy Mytchenko. As Ukrainian Press services earlier commented, the Kyiv city state administration predicts that the Kyiv city council will endorse the images of the emblem and flag of the city by June 2009.
Thus, the image of the large emblem is blue coat of arms with circle bottom, depicting silver Archangel Michael in the coat with a golden aureole, golden flaming sword in one of his arms, and silver oval shield.
The coat of arms is located on the golden Baroque cartouche topped with golden three-prong city crown.
The image of the smaller emblem is very similar to the coat of arms of the large emblem.
The emblem is located on the images of city emblems of 1673 and 1782. The pictures now have to be endorsed by the Kyiv city council.
The flag of the capital has to be blue orthogonal cloth with the aspect ratio of 2:3 with a large emblem in the middle of it.
The height of the emblem on the flag has to be 2:3 of the cloth's width. |
