Kiev ranked among the best cities in Europe for shopping tourism by version of Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
Although he took only 27th place out of 33, but was able to get around such cities as Warsaw and St. Petersburg. London took the first place in the ranking, the second - Madrid, on the third - Barcelona.
According to the EIU, Kiev shops are open longer and more often than in other cities, they offer a discounts. But even with their view, the prices in the capital's shops is higher than in many European, say retailers.
In rating The Globe Shopper City Index - Europe 33 cities were included. The Company has assessed the attractiveness of cities for shopping tourism in several categories, including the number of shops and large shopping centers, the national currency rate to the basic world, shop hours, discounts, etc.
The company has made the first time such rating. In the EIU noted that shopping plays a large role in choosing a tourist place, where to go and spend money. The most attractive shopping is Europe. According to the WTO, almost half (44%) of the world tourism sales accounted for by Europe.
Recently, an authoritative British guide "The Lonely Planet" has identified the Top 10 countries in the world that are worth a visit in 2012. Ukraine took third place in the ranking, along with Uganda and Myanmar. |
