
The Ukrainian Parliament Verkhovna Rada has increased its financing by about 100 million hrn, was recently reported.
At the end of the last week, the Speaker of Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn has symbitted for signing to President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko the Law on change in the state budget-2009.
The document was concluded by the Cabinet of Ministers that proposed to finance a number of social funds (in particular, supplying those ill with diabetes with insulin) at the expense of the grown excise duty on beer (nearly 300 million hrn).
Hence, during the voting, lawmakers announced an amendment into the law and arise the Verkhovna Rada’s budget by 97 million hrn. The move is absolutely contrary to statements of lawmakers about the need of total economy and decrease of expenses on the officialdom.
In January, lawmakers trimmed their financing by 119 million hrn, compared with the year 2008. At first, the parliament saved on details: they decreased the number of guards of parliamentary buildings and expenses on telephone conversations. Later, under the pressure of government, lawmakers trimmed their salaries. |
