Minister of Regional Development and Construction is worried about possible delay of the long-awaited opening of the renovated Golden Gates Museum in Kyiv.
Press service of the Ministry has reported this news.
"We are worrying that the Golden Gates opening will be embargoed," the report reads.
Elaborating on the reasons for their fear, the management of the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve said the land under the museum is on the balance of the Kyiv City Administration.
"All utility lines running to this historical memorial belong to the municipality, and if you have a desire to receive approval from Kyiv services for your novelties, needed on the site, you have to develop a project," the press service quoted Sofia Kyivska deputy director Vadym Kyrylenko.
He reported that development of the project needs a general plan that has to be accompanied by a land commission decision, i.e. the land has to be transferred to this Ukrainian property.
Utility improvements are possible only after land allotment.
Sofia Kyivska saint memorial, as a balance holder for the Golden Gates, submitted documents necessary for the land allocation to the Kyiv mayor's office.
The package of documents has been received by the Kyiv City Administration since the beginning of 2007.
The ministry said that renovation works at the museum are 99% completed; the project already consumed an investment of UAH 4.15 million.
As it reported earlier, Regional Development and Construction Minister Volodymyr Yatsuba predicted that restoration of the Golden Gates Museum in Kyiv would be finished by 2008.
The city state administration announced a competition for the best concept of renovation of the protection area around St. Sofia's Cathedral.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism determined the area between Sofiiska and Mykhailivska squares as an archeological protective zone falling within the territory of St. Cathedral. |
