
Total direct foreign investment in the capital of Ukraine was USD22 billion as of October 1, 2010, a growth of 10 percent from earlier in the year, and equaled 50 percent of overall total investment in Ukraine, Oleksandr Popov, the head of the Kyiv City Administration, noted.
Investment in capital assets in Kyiv in January-September 2010 reached Hrn 17.2 billion, which is 18.3 percent of the total investment in Ukraine's economy.
"Investment in Kyiv’s economy increased by 1.8 percent year-over-year, while in Ukraine we saw a fall of investment by 2.7 percent. Investment in capital assets in Kyiv per capital stood at almost Hr 6000, which is 2.8 times up on the indicator for the whole country," Popov added.
In January-September 2010, foreign citizens invested USD2.2 billion in Kyiv's economy, he mentioned. Taking into consideration capital revaluation, losses and the exchange rate, the growth in the total foreign capital inflow in Kyiv came to USD1.838 billion. |
