Our country has called on the European Union to increase the number of multiple-entry visas it issues to Ukrainian citizens.
The press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry proclaimed this in a statement.
The 5-th meeting of the Ukrainian-European Union joint committee on implementation of the contract between Ukraine and the European Union on simplification of procedures for visa obtaining was held in Kyiv on April 29.
During the meeting, the representatives of Ukraine offered proposals on measures that the European Union should receive to enable Ukrainian citizens to take full advantage of the simplified visa procedures.
Particularly, Ukraine called on the European Union to exclude cases of unjustified rejection of visa applications, significantly grow the percentage of multiple-entry visas issued to Ukrainian citizens, train officials at its consulates to avoid humiliating Ukrainian citizens, and end its consulates practice of unjustifiably demanding additional documents for visa submissions.
Those who took part in the meeting noted the program that was made in implementing the agreement on simplification of visa procedures and agreed to continue dialogue on amendment of this agreement.
As it was earlier reported, Ukraine expects the European Union to step up its efforts to abolish visas between Ukraine and the European Union.
The European Union has noted that it is absolutely ready to assist Ukraine in implementing the reforms that are necessary for abolition of visas between Ukraine and the European Union. |
