China has plans to develop research and technical collaboration with Ukraine, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi noted at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Ukraine Mykola Azarov in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"We offer that the sides strengthen joint development and production between research and technological companies and research institutes so as to promote the introduction of research and technological achievements," the Ukrainian government's press service quoted the foreign minister as saying.

He admitted that the sides currently could and should spend unused resources in order to achieve a serious breakthrough in scientific and technical collaboration.

"It's possible to get to know a lot from Ukraine, in particular, in the space industry, aviation, and shipbuilding," he emphasized.
