
The Kyiv city council decided to reorganize the Central City Clinical Zhovtneva Hospital and to name it Oleksandrivska.
The Council has made a decision at its Session on Thursday, October 25.
The Kyiv council transferred the hospital for management to the Main Department of health care and Medical Provision.
After the reorganization the hospital's equipment will be still in its ownership, apart from the equipment and property of the endocrinology department located on the Street Pushkinska thatis given to the Kyiv City Endocrinology Center formed by the Kyiv Council Session on October 1.
The decision also offered renaming Zhovtneva Hospital into the Kyiv hospital No.13. However, the deputies believe it is inadmissible to number the hospital with a number that is according to superstitions considered to be unlucky.
Therefore the deputies decided to return the hospital its historical name of 1875.
Deputy chair of the Kyiv City State Administration Irena Kilchytska said that the hospital may not be considered to be central due to its state and showings.
She underlined that while reorganization will concern only the hospital name.
According to the head of city council's health care commission and Deputy of Stolychni Reformy group Olha Bohomolets-Sheremetyeva, reorganization of the hospital will not entail alienation of its property, reduction in the number of doctors or beds.
"The hospital will just connect to other hospitals and will continue its specialized development and receive financing" she admitted.
Simultaneously the hospital workers proclaimed they learned about the reorganization by accident right before the city council session. Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi promised to sign the council's decision only after he personally meetings with the hospital personnel.
Apart from this, the deputy mayor and council secretary instructed the deputies to create a group that would study land allocations on the hospital's territory over the last here years. |
