The government of Ukraine permitted the State Mortgage Institution (SMI) to purchase 445 apartments from 20 developers for UAH 141 million.

The Cabinet of Ministers made this decision at a meeting on Wednesday.

According to Regional Development and Building Minister of Ukraine Vasyl’ Kuybida, the average cost of one square meter in the housing bought is UAH 3.961.

The cabinet resolution concerning the permit to purchase apartments from developers also includes the point which foresees the purchase of housing being built from its owners.
