New historical coil in the life of unique Balaklava

Recent news report that the small city in the South of our country became the hot spot of interest for the great majority of people. It is connected with some events that happened during last period and gave the city a real historical meaning and greatly increased the interest among tourists.

The charm and uniqueness of Balaklava lies in the long and deep bay that from one side has picturesque ruins of the Middle Ages' genuise castle Chembalo, and from the other - well-known mountain Tavros, that in translation from Turkic means "empty". Right in this emptiness the whole underground city was erected. Its buildings were hollowed out in the rock and covered with ferro-concrete with thickness of 56 m.

Not long ago the management of the museum carried out the presentation of the project of next reconstruction and development of this piece of history.

The project will allow to increase the demonstrational square that will cause the assignment by the object a status of governmental meaning. It will be similar to the complex that is going to be erected on the place of the previous plant "Arsenal".

The cost of resonstruction process of the Balaklava museum complex is more than 5 mln of grivnas.The Sevastopil's architects hope that offered project of musem complex will harmoniously suit the view of Balaklava.

In August an international festival was held in the plant - art-contest with 25 projects of video-art, experimental music, dance, cinema and pictures. These were presented by the authors from Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Poland, Romania and Russia.
The idea of festival started its origin four years ago. Two creative persons were the initiators: the Sevastopil's movies director Roman Markholia and his colleague from Germany Sebastian Khaiser. According to the intensions of the organisators the extraordinary formate of the scene was able to combine the modern art and reality of the past.

According to words of "Slava Sevastopolya", it was discovered by three diving lovers on the depth of 86 meters. For their discovery they received golden underwater watches from the head of the Departament Sergey Voronov.

Sailing vessel was almost not effected by time. It was well kept due to the features salts of the Black Sea. The specialists suggest that the boat was possesivness of 15-years Englishman, son of wealthy parents.

According to the words of one of the searchers of Balaklava's underwater world the first intension was to bring the boat out. But it was found that the "sea bell" was fixed in such a way, that the if to get the boat out to the surface it can be completely destroyed.

"New region" reports that the name of boat is "Lobster" . Now this unique creature is of high touristic interest. Those who keen on extreme diving already planned their trips to Ukraine. It is a rare chance to combine pleasant sport activity with plunging into history.
Many people start coming to Balaklava, buiyng the Crimean property for sale or renting real estates of this region not only due to great pleasant rest in the sea near Balaklava but also because of great historical meaning of this area.

They say, it is not over. Balaklava is believed to be a source of places of historical interest. So we will wait for new great discoveries.

Another unique foundation that attracts thousands of tourists is the underwater archeological complex in the waters of Balaklava. The complex is presented as a trading boat of 1841. The solemn even concluded the report made by the representatives of the Department of underwater herritage of Arheological Institute of Ukrainian sciences.

Highly secret strategy object of the times of "Cold War" - underground plant for submarines with autonomous living providing, which is situated on the West coast of Balalklava bay under the 90m rocky slope was left at the end of last century and was greatly destroyed. Successfully the Central Museum of the Armed Power of Ukraine took care of the fate of the plant. Due to the support of its specialists now this underground complex became one of the most famous objects of tourism.
