
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine sent to Poland a draft interstate agreement on the canceling of consular fees for the issuance of free long-term visas to Ukrainian people.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Kostiantyn Yeliseyev had a meeting with Polish Under-Secretary of State at the Polish Foreign Ministry Andrzey Kremer on June 19, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine press service reported.
During their meeting, the diplomats have discussed a large range of issues of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation, particularly in the developing of a high-level political dialogue, cooperation in energy and economy, first and foremost, in the context of the joint implementation of the Euro-Asian Oil Transport Line Project, the simplification of a visa regime between Ukraine and the European Union, the construction of new border crossing spots, and the introduction of joint border and customs controls on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
Yeliseyev passed to Kremer a draft agreement between Ukraine and Poland on the canceling of consular fees for the issuance of free long-term visas to the people of Ukraine, and reported that a local border traffic agreement between Ukraine and Poland should soon take effect.
Yeliseyev also took part in the third meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation.
As it was said a local border traffic agreement between our country and Poland should come into power on July 1, 2009. The agreement introduces a simplified regime for crossing of the Ukrainian-Polish border for those living nearby. |
